While a watch party wouldn't quite work given the time difference and the very very drawn out nature of US elections, we've got the next best thing!
Tortoise reporter Claudia Williams, news editor Jess Winch and Digital Storytelling Editor Katie Riley will be joining us to break down the campaigns, the results and potentially the winner (if one has been announced and the other candidate hasn't claimed the election was stolen - looking at no one in particular). Whatever happens, join us to unpack one of the biggest elections of 2024.
Claudia joined Tortoise as part of the Sensemaker team, and before that worked at the New York Times and The Week magazine.
Jess Winch is the news editor at Tortoise and became a partner in the company in 2023. She writes about foreign affairs for the Daily Sensemaker newsletter. Jess was previously the foreign editor at the Telegraph, working across both daily and Sunday titles.
Katie leads our efforts to design and produce innovative and data-driven visual journalism. She came to Tortoise from the Wall Street Journal, where she was a graphics reporter covering business and technology in New York. Before that she worked at the Financial Times and the Atlantic. She’s originally from Chicago, Illinois.
