Suzanne Williams QPM (Queen's Police Medal) has spent her career having unimaginable conversations. Negotiating with pirates on the high seas, navigating kidnappings in war zones, and advising governments at the highest level of crisis response.
As the former head of Scotland Yard’s Hostage Negotiation Unit and an accredited Hostage Negotiator in the USA alongside the FBI, she has handled hundreds of life or death situations where calm, clarity and conversation were the only tools available.
She has advised Prime Ministers as part of the Cabinet Office Briefings (COBR) on negotiation strategies and suitable kidnap, hijacking and siege responses. Many of these cases have evolved in the media spotlight whilst others were resolved covertly.
Suzanne's skills are so in demand that she is a visiting lecturer at Harvard University and an Associate Fellow at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School
